Arguably one of the best footballers of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo is 39 years old and said to be nearing the end of his career. Fans, however, are pleading to see Cristiano Ronaldo's playing days to last forever. Against the idea of slowing down anytime soon, his outstanding playing style and extraordinary numbers for Al-Nassr imply that he still boasts a great abundance of ability and has plenty of football left in him.
Rio Ferdinand on Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential retirement timeline
Rio Ferdinand has provided insight into when 39-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, a former colleague at Manchester United, would think about retiring. The 39-year-old striker is running his last year of contract with Al-Nassr. Though his age, he is likely to carry on his professional career for some more years.
Ronaldo scored 50 goals for Al-Nassr last season and helped the club progress to the Super Cup final in his first appearance of the 2024-25 season. Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d'Or winner, has regularly proven his critics during his record-setting career, even if he did not score at Euro 2024, casting doubts on his capacity to play at the highest level.

Rumour has said that Ronaldo may keep on till the World Cup in 2026 Having already caps 212 internationally, he may be ready to break records before retirement. Ronaldo has not, however, made any public comments about his intended course.

“I can’t give too much away but I’ve been doing a few bits with Cristiano behind the scenes and he’s playing as long as he wants. He ain’t going nowhere. And I was gobsmacked. And listen, you’ll see it in time, but minimum three years I think he plays for again.”
It is important to note that this season could be Ronaldo’s last at Al-Nassr, as the decision stands in the player’s hands as to whether he will continue to stay with them for another season or not. Although that's quite far, CR7 will now be seen in action against Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup Final on Saturday, August 17, 2024. The Portuguese legend is looking for his first major trophy with the Saudi club.
