Charles Leclerc Wins At Monza, Defeats Dominant Mclarens As Lando Norris Finishes Second
Charles Leclerc wins the Italian Grand Prix 2024.
Charles Leclerc has won the Italian Grand Prix as he brings home a Ferrari victory at Monza. The expectations were of a victory going the way of the McLaren drivers such as Lando Norris or Oscar Piastri but this was not the case as Leclerc picked up the win with a significant margin on the orange team. There were also questions asked whether Piastri should have overtaken Lando Norris at the start of the race as Norris is currently in the hunt for a World Championship and looks to dethrone Max Verstappen.
This was Leclerc's second win on the iconic track.
Leclerc Nurses Tires To Victory
During the last few laps of the race, Charles Leclerc seemed to struggle with his tires as there was high degradation on the Autodromo Internazionale Monza. During the final few laps as Lando Norris chased after Leclerc, Leclerc nursed his tires as he crossed the finish line at the Italian Grand Prix 2024.
Lando Norris has emerged as a probable contender for the Driver's World Championship as he has now closed the gap between himself and Max Verstappen down to just 64 points. McLaren are now the probable winners of the Constructors Championship as Red Bull's problems don't seem to be ending and McLaren is now just 10-points behind them.
No End To Verstappen And Red Bull's Troubles
There seems to be no end to Red Bull and Verstappen's problems as the Red Bull car again was much slower than the rest of their competition and it has started to hurt the Austrian team. Red Bull's dominant string of races came to an abrupt win and McLaren have swooped right in to take their place.
Red Bull have not been able to fix the problem that has been plaguing their car which has led to their competitors close down the gap to them in the championship standings.
