Sunday's second stage of La Vuelta. On the first sprint stage of this year's event, the Alpecin-Fenix rider covered the 166 kilometres into Burgos in a time of three hours 58 minutes and 57 seconds.
Fabio Jakobsen of Deceuninck-Quick Step and Michael Matthews of Team BikeExchange were second and third respectively in the same time.
A crash late on cost Adam Yates and a number of other riders dearly.
Primoz Roglic though, escaped the carnage to maintain his overall lead - a mere four seconds over Alex Aranburu Deba with Matthews and Josef Cerny joint-third.
