LA Lakers defeated Charlotte Hornets 120-101 on Monday, October 28. The match was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Anthony Davis was the top scorer for Lakers with 29 points, 14 rebounds and three assists. LeBron James also scored 20 points. Dwight Howard and Quinn Cook scored 16 and 12 points respectively. JaVale McGee and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope both scored 10 points.

Miles Bridges was the top scorer for Hornets with 23 points, six rebounds and three assists. Cody Zeller and Terry Rozier both finished the game with 19 points. Dwayne Bacon also scored in double digits.

Davis dominated the first half, while Howard and James took control of the second. Zeller's three-pointer in Q1 started the game, but McGee's two-foot dunk with an assist from James gave the Lakers a 4-3 lead. Davis scored 25 points in the first half which included three three-pointers and six rebounds. He scored 16 points in Q3, making 6 of 8 shots and nine in Q2. The first half ended with a 63-62 advantage to the Lakers. James and Howard led the game in the second half. James scored on the offensive, grabbing 20 points. Howard scored 16 points but also defended well. Bridges only scored six of his 23 points in Q4. As Howard and James scored, Lakers only increased their seven-points lead. Lakers won the game with a nineteen point lead as Cook earned the final two points with a driving layup.
