‘Won’t Stop Here, Will Win 40-50 Medals’: PCI President Jhajharia Sets Ambitious Vision for LA 2028

On behalf of the athletes, PCI President Devendra Jhajharia has made a huge commitment following India's greatest-ever performance at the 2024 Paralympics.

India summed up their 2024 Paralympics campaign with a solid finish in Paris. The country's para-athletes delivered one of the best finished and finished in the top 20 spots in the global medals tally. Paralympic Committee of India President Devendra Jhajharia was particularly delighted after India's outstanding finish in Paris 2024. The Former Olympian was delighted with India's medal tally, and he believes that India will have a better finish in the next edition of the Paris Paralympics.

Devendra Jhajharia Makes Bold Promise for Athletes Ahead of LA 2028 Paralympics

Paralympics medalist and PCI President Devendra Jhajharia has made an enormous promise on behalf of the athletes after their best-ever performance at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. He said that for the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics, the Indian contingent would be aiming for 40-50 medals and aspires to be unstoppable.

"We won't stop here. Our mission is big. We have started preparing for the next Paralympics. I am confident that in the LA 2028 Paralympics, we will perform better. I promise everyone on behalf of the athletes that we will win at least 40 to 50 medals," Devendra Jhajharia said.

The PCI president also thanked the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi for his immense support for the para-athletes and also to all the people and fans for their support throughout India's stellar campaign.

"I want to thank everyone for the support that they have showcased for our para-athletes, and I congratulate you for your success. 

"The biggest support we had was from PM Modi. You all met them, and you all have a smile on your face," Jhajharid expressed during the Para Athletes' felicitation ceremony in Delhi, India.

Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi , hosted the Paralympic contingent that represented India at the 2024 Paris Para Games. Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, PCI President Devendra Jhajharia and the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse were also at the event. PM Modi interacted with all the athletes and understood their experience while competing in the quadrennial event. Team India ended their campaign with a record-setting haul of 29 medals, which includes seven gold, nine silver and 13 bronze medals.
