Ashleigh Barty fuels speculation of taking up career in third sport after retiring from tennis

The former world number one retired from tennis in March, less than two months after capturing the Australian Open, and has also played professional cricket for Queensland and Brisbane Heat during a break in her tennis career.

Ashleigh Barty has fuelled speculation that she may attempt to launch a career in a third sport, after signing up to play in a golf exhibition tournament.

The former world number one retired from tennis in March, less than two months after capturing the Australian Open, and has also played professional cricket for Queensland and Brisbane Heat during a break in her tennis career.

A keen amateur golfer - with a reputed handicap of four - she has signed up to play in the Icons tournament in July.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and multiple Olympic swimming gold medal winner Michael Phelps are among the others who will appear.
