While he is out due to an injury, Kyrgios is apparently eager to come back to his best. Recently, the Australian tennis player reflected on his triumphs over Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic and pledged to take his rightful place at the top of the ATP Tour.

Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from Australian Open 2024

Kyrgios has suffered multiple injuries, which have kept him off the court for more than six months. He only engaged in one competitive match while on tour in 2023, which was in June at the Stuttgart Open versus Yibing Wu. His absence from the Australian Open in 2024 has already been announced.

Kyrgios made the announcement of his withdrawal from the Grand Slam Down Under on his OnlyFans account.

"I won't be able to compete at the 2024 Australian Open. Obviously heartbreaking, I've had so many amazing memories there and I just want to really get back to playing at the top of my game and doing it right. I need a little bit more time," he said.

The Australian expressed his disappointment at not being able to participate at his home Grand Slam.

"Obviously had a really tough year with injury. Had that knee surgery and came back a little too soon and set me back a little bit, then obviously had some wrist issues. So this is a very disappointing time for me," he added.

Nick Kyrgios hints at a cracking return

Kyrgios has stated unequivocally that he will not make a comeback until he gets fully healed. He just shared a video on Instagram showing off his past achievements versus Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer—the three greatest tennis players. When he returns to the Tour, he hopes to accomplish similar feats.

"Y'all don't wanna see the healthy return," he captioned the story.

The former World No. 11 also posted a picture with his manager Daniel Horsfall, and promised a comeback of epic proportions.

"We will be back at the top," he wrote.
