The fresh 2025 season of IPL began with a bang as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 7 wickets in the opening match. While RCB fans everywhere celebrated, one fan took his joy to the next level, right in the middle of his wedding!

The die-hard fan, whose marriage ceremony on March 22 coincided with the first match of the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), couldn’t hold back his excitement after RCB’s win. As soon as the victory was confirmed, he started clapping and jumping on the wedding stage while his bride-to-be was seen left in shock and wondering what had just happened. Cheering loudly, he then ran towards his friends present at the wedding venue and hugged them. 

Guests at the wedding were left laughing as the groom’s love for cricket briefly stole the spotlight from the day of his marriage. 

RCB Secure Huge Win Over KKR By 7 Wickets 

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a grand win over Kolkata Knight Riders season opener match at the Eden Gardens. Star batter Virat Kohli helped the team power through, with Phil Salt displaying sheer grit and skipper Patidar's cameo helped them beat KKR by seven wickets. While openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli led an explosive assault against the Kolkata Knight Riders, defending champions' bowling attack did not have much effect, with Salt scoring 56 and Kohli going on for an unbeaten 59 to help RCB in the run chase. The Kolkata Knight Riders managed to pick up three wickets, but that did not shift the momentum to their side. The dew factor proved to be heavily beneficial for the side, and they chased down the target at 16.2 overs.
