CM Punk's return request turned down by WWE: Reports
Famed wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer gave an update on CM Punk's WWE return and said that there have been reports that the company has turned down Punk's return request. Meltzer said on ‘Wrestling Observer Radio’:
They turned him down. The decision was a no. He wanted to go there and the decision was a no. I mean, it can always change and it was brought up to me that there is no such thing as no forever when it comes to WWE but it’s no for now. It’s Vince [McMahon]’s decision. Vince, Nick Khan, Paul Levesque [Triple H] and, obviously, they decided that the negatives outweighed the positives.

CM Punk's controversial exit from WWE
CM Punk left WWE in the year 2014 in a controversial fashion and since then, he has been criticizing the company on various issues. He received his release papers on the day of his wedding and due to his constant negative comments about WWE, it was sort of obvious that he would make a return to the biggest wrestling stage.
However, there are chances that he make a comeback to the big stage as there are many superstars who have made negative comments about WWE and have returned in future. There are speculations that if CM Punk returns to WWE, he can get involved with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. Rollins is currently WWE World Heavyweight Champion and if Punk makes a comeback, he could face him in the WrestleMania 40.
