CM Punk returns to action in WWE after 9 years at a house show in MSG, defeats Dominik Mysterio

CM Punk has officially set foot into a WWE ring after 9 years as he went against a member of the Judgement Day at the Madison Square Garden.

WWE has had a terrific 2023. Some of the greatest moments in the history of the brand took place, be it the Bloodline story saga or bringing back one of the most controversial superstars in history. It has been a wild ride for a WWE fan. One of the most significant moments was when CM Punk returned to the wrestling promotion. Given that he left the company in foul terms, it was a big win for them. Punk has officially graced a WWE ring in nine years and was in action against a rising superstar.

CM Punk geared up for his first match in WWE in nine years, defeats a Judgement Day member

CM Punk donned his trunks and came back in action for WWE after nine years. The Second City Saint went against The Judgement Day's 'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio at the World's Most famous arena, the Madison Square Garden. Since the match took place in a house show, it wasn't televised, and only the ones in attendance at MSG were able to witness Punk in action.

The Crowd at MSG had one of the most raucous reactions when CM Punk came out from backstage. The fans backed him as he put Dominik through a GTS (Go To Sleep) to make the pinfall and secure the win. 

When will CM Punk have his first televised match?

Given that CM Punk has already announced himself for the Royal Rumble, there are chances that the WWE may hold him off until the Road to WrestleMania for him to grace the ring. The Stamford-based wrestling promotion tends to keep big superstars for PLE, and they could be going with the same route with Punk.
