Google Gboard app now has the power to even guess what GIFs, emojis you may want to send

Artificial Intelligence or AI is the buzzword these days and Google, being one of the pillars of the tech industry, is getting better at making people familiar with the term AI. Google’s latest Pixel 3 series is accompanied by the best possible software till date, which is further fine-tuned and put to a good use, courtesy of AI. Taking its effort around AI further, Google is now using Artificial Intelligence to suggest GIFs and emojis that Gboard users may want to send.

Gboard is Google’s own keyboard app that has features like glide typing, voice typing, multilingual typing, Google Translate and more. Now that Google has implemented AI to Gboard, users can expect smart recommendations when it comes to sending GIFs and emojis. GIF icon might appear as you are typing, which should lead you to Google’s suggestions. Although the integration of AI into Gboard app sounds interesting, The Verge notes that it mainly relies on keywords.

For example, when users type a message Happy Birthday, users can expect Gboard to suggest relevant stickers and GIFs accordingly. It might sound similar to searching for emojis and GIFs using keywords or phrases. Telegram recommends stickers that convey a similar reaction as emojis. It can also be compared to Apple’s iOS keyboard’s emoji suggestions whenever users type a word.

Gboard’s new AI-based GIF and emoji recommendation feature is already live for both Android and iOS users. Gboard also has certain other features like Gesture cursor control to let users slide their finger across the space bar to move the cursor. Users can also choose their own themes depending on their suitability.
