Microsoft launches Copilot for iOS and Android
Since its debut, Copilot has recorded over 1.5 million downloads globally across Android and iOS platforms, according to data.ai.
Copilot on your smartphone: Microsoft discreetly introduced its Copilot application for Android and iOS platforms this festive season. The app, previously known as Bing Chat, operates similarly to OpenAI's ChatGPT, offering users an AI-powered assistant for a myriad of tasks.
Users can interact with Copilot by typing out their queries or prompts and receive AI-generated responses for tasks such as drafting emails, composing narratives, summarising intricate texts, formulating travel plans, updating resumes, and more. Additionally, the app incorporates the Image Creator feature, using DALL·E 3, enabling users to create images of different styles, devise social media content, design brand elements, generate logos, curate backgrounds, craft portfolios, and conceptualise film and video storyboards.

GPT-4 for free
Copilot grants users complimentary access to OpenAI's GPT-4 technology, contrasting with OpenAI's GPT-3.5, which necessitates payment for GPT-4 access. Before launching the mobile application, Microsoft rebranded the Bing Chat to Copilot in November. Although speculations arise regarding the potential replacement of the Bing app with Copilot, Microsoft remains reticent on this matter.
This mobile introduction complements Copilot's existing web presence and could potentially increase the number of users who want to use GPT-4 without paying a subscription fee.
