Serial tipster Evan Blass has managed to get his hands on what appear to be official-looking renders of the upcoming Moto Razr 2019 clamshell-style foldable phone. Basis of the tipster’s track record, it’s safe to say that, this is it. The Moto Razr 2019 will indeed pay homage to 2004’s iconic Moto Razr V3 in more ways than one. Bringing back so many memories, even more so for those who’ve crossed paths with the original.

The Moto Razr 2019 will be a foldable phone, but it won’t be as drastic a foldable phone like the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the Huawei Mate X – and you can see how. The new Razr will have a screen (possibly P-OLED) on the inside that will simply pass through the hinge. There will be an outer cover glass like in the original to serve as an area for quick notifications. There will be a notch at the top on the inside screen to house the earpiece and sensors. The chin will be substantial and also raised like in the original – this will also be home to what looks like a fingerprint scanner.

Moto Razr 2019 rumoured specs, launch date

Rumoured hardware specs of the Moto Razr 2019 include a 6.2-inch main display with 876x2142-pixel resolution and a secondary cover display with a resolution of 600x800-pixel, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. The foldable Razr phone is said to pack 2,730mAh battery and will reportedly come in three colours: white, black and gold.

The Moto Razr foldable has been a long time coming. The phone was supposed to launch sometime in the beginning of this year. But Motorola seems ready to launch it now. The company will take the wraps off it on November 13. The company has sent out invites to the US media for the said keynote and while it hasn’t explicitly named the product, it has teased the “highly anticipated unveiling of a reinvented icon.” Also briefly teased in the invite is the phone itself with the tagline “you’re going to flip.”
