The iPhone 16e has found a new rival in Google’s new affordable phone, the Pixel 9a. Not only does the Pixel 9a offer on-par specifications, but it is also cheaper. In a bid to churn sales before the Pixel 9a goes on sale, Apple’s authorised resellers have reduced the iPhone 16e’s price significantly, making it effectively more affordable.

Apple Authorised Resellers such as iNvent, Croma, Blinkit, and Zepto have cut the iPhone 16e price from ₹59,900 to less than ₹52,000. This includes both the flat discount and bank offers across iPhone 16e variants. Here is how the deal works.

iPhone 16e deal

The shopping platforms mentioned above have currently listed the iPhone 16e at ₹55,900, representing a flat drop of ₹4,000 on the original price. It is a good deal, but buyers with eligible bank cards can make it better. Using an ICICI Bank, HSBC, or SBI credit card will make the iPhone 16e for an additional ₹4,000 discount, after which the effective price drops to ₹51,900. Customers can get the iPhone 16e for as low as ₹51,900 effectively.

iPhone 16e vs Google Pixel 9a

While Apple positioned the iPhone 16e as a slightly more premium smartphone than its previous iPhone SE models by setting the starting price at ₹59,900, Google chose to make the Pixel 9a more affordable than its previous generations through a drop of about ₹5,000. The Pixel 9a undercuts the iPhone 16e at ₹49,990, which is significantly less than the launch price of the Pixel 8a.

In terms of specifications, the Pixel 9a brings a 6.3-inch OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate, while the iPhone 16e has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display stuck at 60Hz. Powering the iPhone 16e is an A18 chip — which also powers the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, whereas the Pixel 9a uses a Tensor G4 chip, also found inside the Pixel 9 series. While the iPhone 16e has a single 48MP camera, the Pixel 9a offers an additional 13MP ultrawide camera on its back.
