The newest feature on the dating app Tinder is called Swipe Surge and is most likely to up your chances of getting matched. Tinder is trying out many new features in order to keep users hooked to the app. Some of the features on the dating app are paid features that offer users more control when it comes to getting a match.
For example, Tinder Gold, a paid subscription that tells users who all have swiped right on their profile. Tinder Gold gives users a control over who they want to right-swipe in order to get a match. Another feature that Tinder has introduced is called Superlikes, what it does essentially is let users know when they receive interests without a match.
In a nutshell, free users don’t have much benefits other than one Superlike a day. But this could change real fast with the newly announced feature called “Swipe Surge.” As its name suggests, this feature is expected to tell users when does the maximum activity take place on Tinder, so that you can tune into the app at a perfect time. It can certainly maximise your chances of getting a match.
Tinder algorithm prioritises profiles based on their activity and response they receive from other users. So let’s say more users swipe right on your profile, Tinder is expected to put your profile ahead in the pool. This way, Surge Swipe will provide users with some sort of insights when are the maximum number of users are swiping right in your defined area.
Swipe Surge feature is currently under tests on iOS devices across select cities. But given Tinder’s popularity on Google Play Store, the feature is soon expected to roll out for more users including those using Android phones. Although is not available on Android yet, the overall procedure is expected to remain pretty much the same as iOS.
