Walmart-owned Flipkart, along with Paytm and e-commerce giant Amazon, are among the shopping apps worldwide for Q2 2019 by downloads, according to Sensor Tower's report. Both Flipkart and Paytm have successfully made it to Sensor Tower's list of top shopping apps for the second quarter of 2019, following Amazon.

In the worldwide listing, Flipkart and Paytm have managed to secure the number 7 and number 8 spots respectively for overall downloads across platforms. Meanwhile, Amazon has managed to secure the number 1 spot for overall downloads across platforms. Amazon has also become the most downloaded shopping app for Google Play Store worldwide during Q2 2019.

Interestingly, neither Flipkart nor Paytm made it to the list of the top ten most downloaded shopping apps on the App Store worldwide during the stipulated period.

"Amazon was the most downloaded shopping app worldwide for Q2 2019 with close to 34 million installs, which represented a 14 percent increase from Q2 2018. The countries with the most shopping installs of the app during this period were India at 37 percent of its total downloads and the United States at 19 percent," Julia Chain, Mobile Insights Analyst at Sensor Tower said.

Overall, Amazon topped the list of most downloaded apps worldwide for Q2 2019 with about 34 million app installs, resulting in 14 per cent growth as compared to the same period last year. In terms of the number of installs for Amazon, India led the charts with the majority of installs, securing 37 per cent total downloads during Q2 2019, followed by the US at 19 per cent.

"Wish was the second most installed shopping app worldwide in Q2 with more than 25 million installs. The countries with the largest number of Wish installs were the U.S. at 19 percent, followed by Brazil at 14 percent. Shopee, AliExpress, and Pinduoduo rounded out the top five most installed shopping apps worldwide for the quarter."

Following Amazon, Wish was the second most installed shopping app worldwide during Q2 2019 with over 25 million installs. The US saw the highest number if installs at 19 per cent, followed by Brazil at 14 per cent. Meanwhile, apps like Shopee, AliExpress and Pinduoduo rounded out at the top five most installed shopping apps globally for Q2 2019.
