Google might have a solution to end neverending discussions on 'where to go out to eat?'

In the latest updates of its navigation app Google Maps, the Internet giant has introduced a new feature that would predict your liking for a particular restaurant.

The new feature will use the data it has on you which might include your personal dining preferences and the frequency of your past visits.

It will then, get this, display a 'match percentage' for a user and a particular restaurant when the user taps on that restaurant!

For instance, if one has a liking towards South Indian cuisine and regularly visits restaurants which cater the same, Google Maps will show high match percentage for nearby restaurants with South Indian cuisine in a place that he/she is new to.

Additionally, the app will also show the reason behind its analysis inferring from your preference and your recent visits.

A 'for you' tab that would keep one in the know about everything that happens around him/her irrespective of the location is currently available for the iOS platform all over the world and on Android platforms in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Japan. However, we could expect the feature to make its way into the Indian store in the near future.

Another feature that is currently exclusively available for the iOS platform is the 'quick share'. The feature lets the user add restaurants to a shareable shortlist that the users' friends and family can add upon as well as vote on. Additionally, once the place is decided, the app also lets you book a reservation and arrange a ride.

The latest feature can prove useful to tourists or people visiting a locality for the first time. Endless scrolls on restaurant aggregators to find the perfect one could now be a thing of the past with the new feature.
