Google announced on October 2, 2018 that it will come out with a new game streaming service called 'Project Stream'. Avid gamers are in for a treat. Beginning from October 5, a few chosen people can test the service by playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey in the Google Chrome browser. The takeaway point from Google's new venture is that a high-end PC is not needed to run the service. While your computer sends the keyboard and mouse commands, Project Stream would stream the gameplay from your PC in the cloud service.

The introduction of the service is not new in the industry but Google claims to provide extremely low latency and high fidelity graphics with its gaming stream services. For the same, it has brought in Ubisoft - to make Assassin's Creed Odyssey the first playable game on the newly-developed game streaming service. During the initial beta testing of the service, participants can freely use the gaming service to test the game and features of the service. Through this, Google can collect vital data and user experience information related to the gameplay. One can even watch a demo of the game, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, being played through the Google browser.

As exciting as it may sound, the service sure has some limitations. After the launch, it would only be available for the residents in the US, until it gets all its features right during the beta testing of the service. The participant should be a minimum of 17 years of age or older to take part in the testing. Also, a good stable Internet connection would be essential with at least 25 megabits per second of speed. A laptop or a desktop computer with access to Google Chrome is a must which should be running on Windows 10, macOS or Linux.
