Valentine's day is almost upon us and we have already seen some smart, unique and crazy ways to score that perfect date like stocking up your refrigerator! And if you already have a date, you can get yourselves matching sets of costumes and play PUBG together. So there are many ways to keep busy this Valentine's day. But are you feeling ignored on WhatsApp lately by the person who you were planning to celebrate this Valentine's day with? If your answer is yes, there is a good chance that you have been blocked by your potential Valentine.

Figuring out whether someone has actually blocked you on WhatsApp is a bit tricky because you can never be absolutely sure if someone has actually blocked or just ignoring you. The easiest way to find out is of course by calling the person. But in case you are not ready for confrontation, we have some tips to help you figure out if someone has blocked you on WhatsApp.

Last seen or online in the chat window

One of the indications is 'last seen' or online status. 'Last seen' refers to the last time your contact was WhatsApp. So in case if the person you want to contact is 'online' it means he or she has WhatsApp running in the foreground. If the person has blocked you, you will not be able to see his/her last seen or online.

However, WhatsApp lets users also hide their last seen from showing to their contacts. In that case, this trick will not be a full-proof assessment in getting to the bottom of the truth. Hence, we show you the next trick.

Profile picture updates

Similar to the last seen and online status, profile pictures are a great tool to figure out if you have been blocked on WhatsApp. Some users frequently change their profile picture while many of them stick to the same picture literally for years. If you have been blocked by someone, you will not be able to see that person’s updated DPs.

In some cases, WhatsApp pulls a contact’s default profile picture from either Google account or locally saved contact picture. In either case, it is somewhat hard to know if that’s the actual profile picture set by your contact or the default contact picture stored locally.

If you are unable to see a profile picture or last seen altogether, chances are higher that you have been blocked by the person on WhatsApp. However, it is completely possible that a person may have simply decided to keep his or her profile picture hidden from showing to WhatsApp users in general. In that case, you have to keep looking for other signs as follows.

WhatsApp ticks

WhatsApp ticks play a really important role in here. Single tick will appear for every message sent to a contact who has blocked you on WhatsApp. Double ticks indicate your message has been delivered. If someone has blocked you on WhatsApp, you will not see double ticks over on any message sent to them.

There, if none of your messages are getting delivered to someone for an unusually long period, it is likely that you have been blocked by that person. However, double ticks won't appear on messages if the recipient isn't connected to data or Wi-Fi.

WhatsApp Group conversation

Unlike all the previous tips, this tip is more useful in determining whether someone is rather ignoring you on WhatsApp. The blue ticks let users find out if their message is read or simply seen but it isn't full-proof WhatsApp lets users disable the read receipts.

You can send a message to a mutual group on WhatsApp. Turning off read receipts doesn’t work for group conversations. So if the person is reading messages sent on the group unlike personal chat, they are simply ignoring you.
