Almost every other major app out there has currently been working on a dark mode feature. While communication and social media apps like Slack and Twitter already provide its users with a dark mode update and Facebook's dark mode is currently in its early stage of development, JioTV's Android app has received a new update that delivers dark mode feature to its users.

JioTV app now delivers native support for Dark mode, months after Reliance Jio rolled out Dark Mode to JioCinema app. In addition to the native Dark mode, the update version 5.8.0 also includes certain improvements to the app's user interface (UI)

How to enable Dark mode on JioTV app for Android

Step 1: Dark mode on JioTV for Android can be activated by tapping the hamburger button from the top-left corner of the screen.

Once you enable Dark mode on JioTV's Android app, the app's default white background will then turn into Gray. Subsequently, the black font will also turn into white to minimise the risk of eye strain while using the JioTV app.

It also offers specific UI improvements in the app's Settings menu that now also includes a link to log out. Earlier, the log out link was hidden under the app's hamburger menu. Previously, JioTV added Picture-in-Picture (PiP) support for Android users, in addition to the new interface that enabled users with more straightforward content and channel discovery.

The update has been rolled out via Google Play Store. JioTV app is compatible with devices running at least Android 4.4. The update is 23MB in size.

In related news, Reliance Jio's broadband service called Jio Fiber will be rolled out for everyone from 5th September. All Jio Fiber subscribers will have to choose a tariff plan as soon as the service rolls out commercially for all existing and new customers.

Meanwhile, Jio and Microsoft have also entered into a long-term partnership. As part of this collaboration, Jio will integrate Microsoft's Azure Cloud platform with its network.
