Likee was the among top 10 most-downloaded apps worldwide last month, as per Sensor Tower's report. Likee (formerly LIKE Video) is a short video and social media app. Likee allows users to create and share short videos with friends. Some of the features of Likee include a built-in tool that will enable users to apply special effects to their videos. Likee users can record themselves while dancing and lip-syncing to some of the popular songs and audio clips available. What's more, Likee also allows users to broadcast live videos in real-time. Likee app is owned by Singapore-based BIGO Technology.

According to the Sensor Tower report, Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp was the second most installed non-game app worldwide last month. WhatsApp reached more than 57.6 million installs last month. India saw the highest number of WhatsApp installs at 27 per cent, followed by Indonesia at 9 per cent. Messenger, Facebook and Instagram rounded out the top five most installed non-game apps worldwide for August, as per the Sensor Tower report.
