Team SOUL, at the recently closed PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 (PMCO), still won an accolade with the team’s IG Mortal emerging as the PMCO Website Fan Favourite Player in the tournament. This is definitely a positive development as far as the Indian eSports scene is concerned (that is emerging).

In this regard, IG Mortal – going by the Twitter moniker @ig_mortal also managed to grab eyeballs of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) itself who have officially congratulated the player in a new tweet, check this out below:

Renowned eSports interviewer Rachel Berlin interviewed IG Mortal (above) – now this itself is a bonus considering the fact that the eSports scene in India is still in its infancy, and the PMCO 2019 has potentially provided a much-needed shot in the arm to the domain in the country.

To rewind the PMCO 2019 finals, Team SOUL finished twelfth overall, with Team TES from China topping the ratings and winning the crown of PMCO 2019 champions. The team from India, nonetheless, did manage to strike the right chord with audiences (all segments) from across the globe. With global exposure, coupled with IG Mortal being voted as the fan favourite player in the tournament, future global tournaments should see the rise of India as a top eSporting nation. PUBG, as a whole, has been continually popular in India and has recently witnessed the advent of PUBG Mobile Lite that is custom-made for playing on smartphones having less than 2GB RAM.
