Tinder continues to lead charts across Google Play and App Store in terms of the number of downloads worldwide. As per the Sensor Tower report, Tinder topped the list of top ten dating apps worldwide, by the number of people downloaded the app. However, data published by Sensor Tower is limited to August 2019.

During August 2019, Tinder was the most downloaded dating app around the world. Tinder recorded about 5.8 million installs during the stipulated period, representing a 9 per cent increase from the same period last year. At 20 per cent, Tinder received the most number of installs from the US, followed by 11 per cent of its total downloads from Brazil.

Interestingly, Tinder secured the number 1 spot for both Google Play and App Store platforms. Whereas TanTan came in at second place for App Store, but the third place for Google Play. It goes without saying, rankings for Google Play and App Store remain different from each other, mainly due to dissimilar usage among users.

For example, although Happn app is more popular on Android (4th place), the same app can be found at (8th position) on App Store. What's more, Bumble app has not even made it to the list of top apps on Google Play Store.

Following Tinder, Tantan was the second most downloaded dating app last month. Tantan reached over 4.2 million installs, representing a 34 per cent increase from the same period the previous year. China saw the highest number of TanTan downloads (39 per cent), followed by India at 29 per cent. Other dating apps like Badoo, Happn, MeetMe were amongst the top five most installed dating apps last month.
