Indian Potterheads can't stop gushing about the new Harry Potter-themed 'Pokemon Go' style adventure game- Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, which rolled out on Sunday in the country along with 24 other nations.

The game which is available for free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store was launched in the US on June 21 with the game's official Twitter handle releasing a magical 30-second teaser  claiming ' Help save the Wizarding world.'

The video starts with a figure resembling Harry Potter searches for his fallen spectacles, on wearing it he disappears as a voiceover narrates that an 'unusual phenomenon' has gripped the world. It shows players witnessing sudden spurts of magic around the globe as figures continue disappearing around the world into the magical world presumably. The video proceeds to show players 'duelling' to free creature and other characters from the grips of enchantment through the real world. The video ends with a player banishing dementors yelling 'Expecto Patronum' as his phone screen shows 'Dementors' being banished away from his 'Muggle' surroundings.

The game tasks the player into the role of a new recruit within the Statute of Secrecy Task Force to help solve a mystery to discover artefacts, cast spells and encounter characters from the Potter films and prequel movie series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Developed by Pokemon Go's designers - Niantic, it follows a similar adventure sending people into the streets in search of their beloved magical creatures and characters from the JK Rowling's brainchild: The Harry Potter series.

Incidentally, the game asks the player to confirm he will play the game responsibly and also warns when a player's location changes too fast, confirming that the player is a travelling passenger. This had been a major cause of worry as many accidents had been caused due to  Pokemon Go when people jumped in front of vehicles or meandered mindlessly into traffic to catch the elusive 'Pokemons'
