At its iPhone 11 special event in Cupertino, California, Apple launched the fifth-generation Apple Watch, aka the Apple Watch Series 5. The Apple Watch Series 5 is an incremental update to last year’s Apple Watch Series 4 that comes with an all-new always-on Retina display, new titanium/ceramic finish, international emergency calling and compass built in. The Apple Watch Series 5 will be available for buying in the US starting from September 20 for $399 for GPS and $499 for the LTE (cellular) variant.

Unsurprisingly, the Apple Watch Series 5 will ship with watchOS 6 out-of-the-box. Some of the new features of watchOS 6 include a menstrual cycle tracking app, a noise app for detecting sound levels that could negatively impact hearing, a new trends tab in the activity app for tracking long-term progress, and not to mention, tons of new Watch faces for customization.

“We’ve seen Apple Watch have a meaningful impact on our customers’ lives and we’re excited to deliver even more capabilities with Apple Watch Series 5 and watchOS 6. The seamless integration of new hardware and software delivers an enhanced experience that makes it even easier to stay active and connected to the people and information users care about,” Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer said in a statement announcing the Apple Watch Series 5.
