CES 2019 that takes place from January 8 till January 11 is all set to focus on 5G which is the next-gen standard as far as connectivity and networks is concerned. Here, it is worth noting that 5G is not only set to make downloads and uploads through a network faster, but is also potentially set to open up avenues for new inroads in the form of newer video-calling apps (offering purely seamless connectivity), file sharing software tools, and even instant messenger enhancements.

In this regard, if you think that you have ideas to completely leverage the advantages of 5G; once the next-gen network gets officially deployed across the world; then the session at CES 2019 called the  “Ready for the 5G Wireless Revolution” is potentially worth checking out. Here, next-gen wireless connectivity could in fact better current-gen technical aspects such as self-driving cars, smart health-related diagnosis, technology-driven monitoring of data, along with data analysis.

Here, it is worth understanding that 5G is believed by a wide community of experts to be one of the driving forces behind smart cities; at this juncture, India also has theoretical smart cities, but practical applications within these smart cities are still yet to come to light. Also, with the fourth industrial revolution, aka Industry 4.0, now upon the masses, the next-gen wireless standards along with seamless connectivity could only further businesses in their quest to smoothen a lot of internal (and external) processes.

It is also worth noting that possibly the world’s first showcase of 5G connectivity in public domain is already in place in the US by AT&T which has also showcased a 5G network hotspot called the Netgear Nighthawk Mobile hotspot which is said to offer 5G+ network coverage for smartphones that are selectively offered by the carrier to chosen individuals and businesses. These 5G hotspots that are currently active are the cities of Houston, Raleigh NC, Charlotte NC, Louisville, New Orleans, Texas, Indianapolis, San Antonio, and Jacksonville.
