Starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Willem Dafoe, Aquaman is rated with 7.4 stars on IMDb at the time of writing this. However, for Warner Bros. studio, Aquaman is now the second biggest hit of all-time worldwide following Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, which leads the charts at $1.341 billion (roughly Rs. 9,529.81 crores). Aquaman secures 24th rank in the highest-grossing film of all-time.

In the overall global ranking, Aquaman still falls six titles behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe including Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel's The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Black Panther, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War. Although this gives James Wan-directed Aquaman reason to glorify their accomplishment, they should keep in mind where do they stand in terms of competition.

According to Deadline, folks over at Warner Bros. are planning to persuade Wan into leading development of the sequel to Aquaman, which will be a tedious task. First things first, he'd want to select the writers to come up with the script before determining whether to direct the prequel or not. Wan has already proved what he is capable of. In the last three years, Wang has pushed two films over the $1 billion-mark including 2015's Furious 7 grossing $1.156 billion.
