Hack:

  • The apparently bezel-free Asus Zenfone 6 now finally has an official launch date
  • Zenfone 6 smartphone could still be affordable, as well as pricing is concerned

The apparently bezel-free Asus Zenfone 6 now finally has an official launch date, which is not too far away from now. The next-gen handset would now be launched on May 16 in an event in Valencia in Spain.

Confirming the above development on Twitter, Asus states that loyalists could expect to defy the ordinary with the Zenfone 6 after the smartphone is launched. The Zenfone 6, once official, succeeds the Zenfone 5Z which has a near Rs 22000 price tag in India.

Now, the Zenfone 6 is rumoured to feature a bezel-less display and the form factor of the entire smartphone could be a tad unconventional if the “defy the ordinary” tagline teased by Asus is anything to go by. Also, the Zenfone 6 could still be affordable, and not necessarily a premium-priced smartphone, like its predecessor. The key technical specifications of the Asus Zenfone 6 are yet o surface but since its expected to succeed the Zenfone 5Z, it does no harm to explore again the key technical specifications; check these out below:

  • 6.2-inch display having resolutions of 1080 x 2246 pixels
  • Android 8.0 (Oreo) operating platform - eligible to receive Android 9.0 (Pie) as an OS update
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC
  • 12 MP + 8 MP dual rear cameras

In related updates, the current-gen Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 have started receiving the Android 9.0 (Pie) beta update. The newer beta firmware introduces newer aspects such as Digital Wellbeing, Navigation Gesture Support, and more.
