Finally, the most-awaited Asus ROG Phone is set to arrive in India on 29th November. The ROG Phone was originally unveiled in June this year. Now that Asus has decided to bring the ROG Phone in India, it remains to be seen how mobile gamers and enthusiasts choose to respond. Meanwhile, let’s take a closer look at what makes Asus ROG Phone special that there’s so much hype around it already.

If we look at overall features and hardware specifications, Asus ROG Phone is easily a heavyweight champion. Starting with internals, there can be either 128GB or 512GB internal storage. On top of that, Asus offers 100GB of Google Drive storage for 1 year. Powering the device is up to 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 845 chip and Adreno 630 GPU for graphics.

In terms of design, the handset might feel heavy thanks to 200g weight. It measures 8.33mm in thickness. Up front, there’s a 6-inch AMOLED screen featuring 2,160 x 1,080 Full HD+ resolution. The screen is further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It houses 12MP+8MP dual rear cameras whereas on the front, there’s a single 8MP selfie camera. The phone can record 4K videos at up to 60 frames per second (fps).

To enhance the gaming experience, it comes with two front-firing speakers. The splash resistant phone runs Android 8.1 operating system with the company’s ROG UI on top. The phone can support external accessories such as a swappable controller and desktop dock.

One should understand that Asus is operating both their smartphones and gaming laptop/desktop computers businesses independently. While smartphones are taken care of by the Zenfone lineup, Asus’s gaming laptops and computers fall under its Republic of Gamers (ROG) moniker.

Asus ROG has earned a fairly good name and brand presence in the gaming market. But with the help of a desktop dock and accessories support for the ROG Phone, Asus seems to have a very good business opportunity to narrow down the distance between these two divisions in the future, which would otherwise head separately into two different directions in the future.
