Huawei offshoot Honor will launch the Honor 10 Lite in India on January 15. The Honor 10 Lite is a lower mid-tier phone which is successor to the Honor 9 Lite from last year and is already selling in China at a price of around Rs 15,000. Honor will be bringing the 4GB RAM/64GB storage and the 6GB RAM/64GB storage variants of the Honor 10 Lite to India and will exclusively sell the phone in question via Flipkart.

The Honor 10 Lite, like most Honor phones under Rs 20,000, focuses a great deal on design and AI selfie camera tricks. It comes with a glossy glass-like finish on the back, and will be available in three colour options, namely blue, black and one with a distinct gradient. The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a dewdrop-style notch upfront that entails in a screen-to-body ratio of 91 per cent, according to Honor.

In terms of core hardware, the Honor 10 Lite comes with a 6.21-inch 1080p+ display and a Kirin 710 processor under the hood with up to 6GB RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. Honor doesn’t seem to be bringing the top-end variant of the Honor 10 Lite with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage to India at this point of time: this is something which is suggested by the phone’s Flipkart listing. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9 out-of-the-box and supports micro-SD card expansion. It is further backed by a 3,400mAh battery.

In terms of optics, the Honor 10 Lite comes with a dual rear camera system consisting of one 13MP sensor and another 2MP sensor for depth sensing. On the front, it comes with a 24MP camera.

In China, the Honor 10 Lite starts at CNY 1,399 (which roughly translates to Rs 14,000) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version while the version with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage sells for CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs 17,000). It is expected that Honor will launch it in India at around a similar price.

Honor is also gearing to launch its more premium Honor View 20 phone in India on January 29. The main highlight of the Honor View 20 is its 6.4-inch 1080p+ all-view display made possible through a punch-hole selfie camera setup. The goal here is to offer maximum screen real-estate by punching a hole in the display and incorporating an in-screen selfie camera. This selfie camera has a resolution of 25MP in the case of the Honor View 20.  The Honor View 20 will be an Amazon India-exclusive, Honor has announced.
