Honor has already confirmed that the Honor V30 is coming soon with Huawei’s newly announced Kirin 990 processor – alongside a 5G-ready version. It is yet to reveal any other detail though. A new spy shot of the alleged Honor V30 doing the rounds of the internet gives us a first look at what could be in store. While the Honor V20 came with a single punch hole selfie camera (the Honor V20 was in fact the first smartphone in the world to pack a display cutout), the Honor V30 is set to get two punch hole selfie cameras, if the leak is anything to go by – like the Samsung Galaxy S10+.

The design seems reminiscent of the V20 but with slimmer bezels on all sides. The pill-shaped punch hole is seen on the left end – while in the Samsung Galaxy S10+ the setup is on the right. Sadly, that’s all we get to see in the leak. We have absolutely no clue how the phone would look like from the behind – how many cameras it would have and other details. Again, it is advisable you take the spy shot with a pinch of salt, unless Honor comes up and confirms this design for sure.

Honor V30 incoming with Kirin 990 and 5G

What we do know for sure is that the V30 will be a high-end flagship with Huawei’s Kirin 990 processor. The Kirin 990 processor was formally announced at IFA 2019 and Huawei’s Mate 30-series phones are the first to pack the high-end SoC.

The V20 was also the first Honor phone to pack Huawei’s flagship Kirin 980 – and now the V30 is coming with the next-generation Kirin 990 SoC, which isn’t surprising.

Among the many new innovations that it would bring to the table, the Kirin 990 would also bring 5G connectivity to the Honor V30. The Kirin 990 uses a 7nm FinFET Plus EUV node by TSMC – which is also the same manufacturing process that would be used by Apple’s new A13 chip powering the next iPhone, or the iPhone 11 set to launch on September 10. It has an 8 core CPU – with 2x big Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.86GHz, 2x middle Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.36GHz and 4x small Cortex-A55 clocked at 1.95GHz. The Kirin 990 further has a Mali-G76 GPU.
