The Honor View 20 is coming soon to India. It will be exclusively available for buying from online retail website Amazon India. “Starting today, customers can register their interest for View 20 on Amazon.in and get notified once pre-booking starts for the device,” Honor said in a press statement on Thursday. Notably, the announcement comes just a day after Honor launched the phone, as the Honor V20, in China.
Honor has already confirmed that it will launch the Honor V20 as the Honor View 20 for global markets at an event in Paris on January 22, 2019. It will be interesting to see if Honor jumps the gun and launches the Honor View 20 in India before its global unveiling set for January 22, 2019. Whatever be the case, one thing is certain, the Honor View 20 is coming soon to India, and it is coming to India as soon as in January early next year.
“We are delighted to announce our strategic partnership with Amazon India. The partnership enables us to reach a larger audience, thereby, enabling more citizens to access the world’s finest technology. The Honor View 20 comes packed with three-world first technologies that are set to change the dynamics of the smartphone market both, globally and in India,” Suhail Tariq, CMO at Huawei Consumer Business Group said while announcing the partnership.
The Honor View 10 was a true flagship phone and its successor, the Honor View 20, seems better still. At least as far as paper specs are concerned. The thing about Honor flagship phones is that they are relatively more affordable than their Huawei counterparts and something similar is expected with the Honor View 20 as well.
Honor has launched the Honor V20 in China at a starting price of CNY 2,999 (which roughly translates to Rs 30,622) for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant going all the way to CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs 35,728) for the top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Honor View 20, going by history, should be a little more affordable in India in comparison to China.
The main highlight of the Honor V20 is its 6.4-inch 1080p+ all-view display made possible through a punch-hole selfie camera setup like the one on the Huawei Nova 4 or also on the Samsung Galaxy A8s. Both the Huawei Nova 4 and the Samsung Galaxy A8s as well as the Honor V20 are China-exclusive for now. The goal in all these three devices is to offer maximum screen real-estate by punching a hole in the display and incorporating an in-screen selfie camera. This selfie camera has a resolution of 25MP in the case of the Honor V20.
The Honor V20, in addition, sports a dual rear camera setup on the rear consisting of what Honor claims to be an “industry-first 48MP primary rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor” and a secondary TOF camera for 3D depth mapping.
In terms of core hardware, the Honor V20 packs a Kirin 980 processor with up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. Thye dual-SIM phone runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9, and comes with a massive 4,000mAh battery.
In terms of design, the Honor V20 comes with Huawei and Honor’s signature gradient glass finish with distinct V-shaped patterns on the back.
