Honor View 20 with in-display selfie camera to cost around Rs 40,000 in India: Report

Huawei sub-brand Honor India is all set to take the wraps off the world's first phone with punch-hole selfie camera that goes behind the display. Yes, the phone in question is indeed Honor View 20. According to IANS, Honor View 20 could be priced somewhere close to Rs 40,000 in the Indian market. Honor View 20 launch in India is set for January 29. Honor View 20 will be up for grabs exclusively on Amazon India. However, pre-order starts on January 15.

To recall, Honor View 20 was initially announced at their Artology event in Hong Kong last month. The handset is being touted for its full-view display, something folks over at Honor call "All-View Display."

What's more, Honor View 20 happens to be the world's first in-display selfie camera smartphone. Honor says they opted for complex 18-layer technology stack to put the selfie camera behind the display area. During the global launch, Honor had claimed that a punch-hold selfie camera on Honor View 20 extends the screen-to-body ratio to almost 100 per cent.

Powering the handset is Huawei's HiSilicon Kirin 980 chip for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and graphics processing, courtesy of its dual-ISP and dual-NPU. Specs-wise, Honor View 20 sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ LCD IPS screen. Globally, Honor View 20 has three configurations to offer: 6GB AM with 128GB storage 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

Honor View 20 runs Android 9.0 Pie with their Magic UI 2.0 on top. It houses a 48MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, AIS, TOF 3D secondary camera. Up front is a 25MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. Honor View 20 measures 156.9 × 75.4 × 8.1mm in dimensions and weighs in at 180g.

Honor View 20 features a 3.5mm audio jack. The standard set of connectivity options includes dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. It packs a 4,000mAh battery under the hood with Super Charge fast charging support.
