Huawei Enjoy 9S, 9E Launched With Teardrop-style Notch, Android Pie-based EMUI 9

A day ahead of announcing its flagship P30-series phones, Huawei has launched two new affordable phones, aka the Enjoy 9S and Enjoy 9E, in China – Huawei has also launched the Tablet M5 Youth Edition alongside. All the three devices are China-exclusives for now.  

The Huawei Enjoy 9S comes with a 6.21-inch 1080p+ display with a teardrop-style notch and is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 710 processor. It comes with up to 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage which is also expandable. The phone is further backed by a 3,400mAh battery. On the software front, the Huawei Enjoy 9S runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9.  

Cameras seem to be the main highlight of the Huawei Enjoy 9S – it comes with three rear cameras consisting of one 24MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Huawei Enjoy 9S comes with an 8MP camera. 

The Huawei Enjoy 9S has been launched at a starting price of CNY 1,499 (which roughly translates to Rs 15,400) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version, going all the way to CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs 17,450). The Enjoy 9S will be available in Coral Red, Magic Night Black, and Aurora Blue colour options. 

The Huawei Enjoy 9E, which is the more affordable of the two, comes with a 6.09-inch 720p+ display with a teardrop-style notch and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor. It comes with up to 3GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is also expandable. The Enjoy 9E does not get a fingerprint scanner. On the software front, the Huawei Enjoy 9E runs Android Pie-based EMUI 9. It has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. 

The Huawei Enjoy 9E has been launched at a price of CNY 999 (which roughly translates to Rs 10,250). 

The Huawei Tablet M5 Youth Edition will meanwhile come in 8-inch and 10-inch screen sizes, with Kirin 710 processor and a massive 5,100mAh battery under the hood.  

In other news, Huawei is gearing to launch the next-generation of P-series phones, aka the P30 and P30 Pro, at a global keynote event in Paris on March 26.
