In Pics: Here’s a closer look at the Motorola One Vision and its unusually tall 21:9 Cinema Vision display

Lenovo owned Motorola Mobility has launched the Motorola One Vision in India – a lower mid-range phone designed from ground up for multimedia consumption. The Motorola One Vision brings many a first to a Motorola-branded smartphone. Not only is the Motorola One Vision Motorola’s first smartphone with a punch-hole design, it is also the first Motorola phone to have an unusually tall 21:9 display. Not only is the Motorola One Vision Motorola’s first smartphone with a Samsung Exynos-based mobile processor, it is also the first Motorola phone to ship with a 48MP main camera with Night Vision – which is Motorola’s take on Google’s Night Sight. 

Much like any other new-age Motorola phone, the Motorola One Vision is also backed by Android One – which means that it runs a stock version of Android and is confirmed to get major software updates for at least two years, and security updates for three years. Much like any other Motorola phone, the Motorola One Vision also packs certain Moto enhancements on top of Android to make life wee bit easier, especially when you’re on the go. 

Motorola has been low-key off late, launching fewer phones, that have mostly gone off the radar owing to some stiff competition from the likes of Xiaomi and Realme. The Motorola One Vision is its biggest launch in a while now – and it has the good too. Here’s a closer look at the Motorola One Vision and everything that it brings to the table. 

-- The main USP of the Motorola One Vision is its 6.3-inch 1080p+ LCD display that has an unusually tall aspect ratio of 21:9 - Motorola is calling it CinemaVision. The Motorola One Vision is in fact the first phone in India to have an ultra-widescreen display. 

-- Theoretically, the Motorola One Vision is an ideal smartphone to view cinematic content. Of course, content will be a constraint but both Netflix and Amazon Prime Video now have 21:9 content, that purists will appreciate on the phone’s 21:9 screen. For the layman it will mean, much smaller black bars at the top and bottom of the screen when viewing content in this format. 

-- The Motorola One Vision is also the first Motorola phone with a punch-hole display cutout – like the recently launched Samsung Galaxy M40. 

-- The Motorola One Vision is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9609 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage which is also expandable. 

-- The dual-SIM phone runs stock Android Pie software with Moto enhancements like Moto Display. 

--The Motorola One Vision also supports Bluetooth 5.0 and comes with stereo speakers with Dolby audio certification. 

-- On to the optics, the Motorola One Vision comes with a dual rear camera system consisting of one 48MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture and OIS and another 5MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. The phone supports Night Vision mode and 4K video recording at 30fps. 

-- On the front, the Motorola One Vision comes with a 25MP camera – by default it clicks 6MP photos.  

-- The Motorola One Vision packs a 3,500mAh battery with 15W TurboPower charging support. 

-- In terms of design, the Motorola One Vision comes with a 4D glass back with a conventional fingerprint scanner – the phone will be available in Bronze Gradient and Sapphire Gradient colour options. The phone comes with a mono speaker out at the bottom and USB Type-C for charging and data syncing. There’s also a 3.5mm audio jack on-board the Motorola One Vision. 

-- Motorola has launched the Motorola One Vision in India at a price of Rs 19,999 – this is for the version with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Motorola One Vision will be available for buying in India from June 27 from Flipkart.
