Days after Samsung launched the Galaxy M40 in India, Vivo is gearing to launch its own take on the affordable punch-hole toting smartphone, aka the Z1 Pro. Not only will the Z1 Pro be Vivo’s first punch-hole display smartphone in India, it will also be very aggressively priced – we expect Vivo to launch the Z1 Pro in India at a price of under Rs 20,000. That’s again in Samsung Galaxy M40 territory – Samsung has launched the Galaxy M40 in India at a price of Rs 19,990. Unlike the Galaxy M40, the Z1 Pro will be available in multiple configurations which means Vivo will be also looking to take on the liked of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Realme 3 Pro with its latest offering.

There’s a lot to like about the Vivo Z1 Pro – from design, to core hardware. Everything about it seems top-notch, and even though it has a notch, a punch-hole design ensures it’s going to be your least concern when you’re watching content on it. Also, it’s pretty clear, Vivo is going to be targeting gamers with its latest offering since the Z1 Pro is also the “official smartphone for PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019.” Let’s take a quick look at what the Vivo Z1 Pro brings to the table.

-- The Z1 Pro is made entirely out of plastic, but as is the new industry norm, Vivo is using a glossy gradient finish on this one – so it would be hard to tell you’re dealing with plastic, and more like glass. The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner (no fancy in-display fingerprint scanner on this one), a mono speaker out and micro-USB port for charging and data-syncing (the Galaxy M40 uses USB Type-C). Unlike the Galaxy M40 however, the Vivo Z1 Pro has a headphone jack.

-- The Z1 Pro has a 6.53-inch 1080p+ IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2340-pixel resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio thanks to its punch-hole style notch.

-- Under the hood, the Z1 Pro has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage.

-- The Z1 Pro will be available in three configurations - 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB.

-- The dual SIM phone runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.

-- The Z1 Pro comes with triple rear cameras – a 16MP main camera with f/1.78 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and another 2MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography.

-- On the front, the Z1 Pro comes with a 32MP camera with f/2.0 aperture.

-- The Z1 Pro packs a massive 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging.

-- The Z1 Pro will be available in two colours – Sonic Black and Sonic Blue.

-- Although Vivo hasn’t confirmed a time-line of launch, the fact that it has started teasing the phone in full swing means the launch is drawing closer. We expect Vivo to price the Z1 Pro very aggressively – possibly under Rs 20,000.

-- At its price, the Z1 Pro will compete with phones like the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Realme 3 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy M40.
