The Reliance Jio Diwali offer on the JioPhones that allowed buyers to purchase the 4G-enabled feature phones at Rs 699 and thereby gift these to loved ones, has now been extended till the end of this month as part of continuity in the festive offer. Earlier, the ability to buy JioPhones at Rs 699 was only limited till the end of the Diwali festive season.  Check the offer out.

JioPhone at Rs 699

Now, for the uninitiated, the Diwali JioPhone offer lets people buy the JioPhone at Rs 693 plus an additional reasonable recharge cost making the phone’s price a tad above Rs 800. This is still reasonable considering the fact that the regular price of a JioPhone– including all related aspects such as annual recharge and SIM-card is close to Rs 1700. “The feature phone users who were not able to join the Jio movement during the JioPone Diwali offer, now get another month to avail the benefits of the festive offer and migrate to Jio Digital Life,” stated Jio. A current-gen JioPhones comes with key technical specifications such as:

  • 2.4 inch display having resolutions of 320 x 240 pixels
  • Kai OS operating platform
  • 1GHz dual-core processor
  • 2MP rear camera
  • VGA front camera
  • 4GB RAM
  • 512MB internal storage
  • MicroSD card slot for expanding built-in storage up to 128GB
  • LTE + VoLTE supported
  • 2000 mAh Lithium-Ion battery
  • Popular JioApps supported

At this juncture, Jio is the first operator to levy Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC) of 6 paise per minute – in adherence to TRAI’s regulations, directly on customers. The telco has also come out with two options – an IUC-specific tariff and all-in-one plans that offer bundled prepaid talktime and as much as 1000 IUC minutes (voice calling to other operators) for free with these plans. The 1000 IUC free minutes are with the Rs 333 plan that is valid for 56 days. Then, there are the Rs 444 and Rs 555 schemes that offer greater free IUC minutes.
