Lenovo-owned Motorola Mobility silently launched the Android One-backed Moto One phone in India on Monday – the company has also launched the Moto G7 alongside. Motorola has launched the Moto One in India at a market operating price (MOP) of Rs 13,999. This is for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version of the Moto One. The Moto One is now available for buying in India from both online (Flipkart) as well as offline sales channels.

The Motorola One is different from the Moto G7 in that it is an Android One phone – like the Xiaomi Mi A2. Moto phones already run a close to stock version of Android – you can say the Moto One runs an even purer version of Android. It’s a little disappointing that the Moto One runs Android 8.1 Oreo software out-of-the-box, but Motorola is promising three years of security updates – and should be updated to Android Pie soon enough.

Coming to the specs of the newly launched phone, the Moto One has a plastic body, dual rear cameras and a standard notch. The phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and is also splash-resistant, according to Motorola – it measures 8mm and weighs 172 grams.

The Moto One comes with a 5.9-inch 720p+ LCD display with a notch and 19:9 aspect ratio – Motorola calls it Max Vision. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is also expandable. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo software (with Moto enhancements called Moto experiences) and packs a 3,000mAh battery with 15W TurboPower charging support which is claimed to offer 6 hours of usage in 20 minutes of charging – the phone charges via USB Type-C.

On to cameras, the Moto One sports a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and another 2MP sensor for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Moto One comes with an 8MP camera that can also shoot software-assisted portrait selfies.

Motorola One India price and availability

The Moto One has been launched in India at a price of Rs 13,999 for the version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage – the Moto One will be available in clear white and ceramic black colour options. It will be available from offline as well as online (Flipkart) sales channels.

Motorola is offering cashback of Rs 2,200 from Jio applicable on Rs 198 and Rs 299 recharge plans to go along with the Moto One at launch.
