The next high-end OnePlus phone, likely to be called the OnePlus 8 Pro, may come with a dual punch-hole curved display, quad rear cameras and 5G connectivity. Images of a purported OnePlus 8 Pro prototype have been spotted on Chinese social media website Weibo, showing off the phone from the front as well as from the back leaving literally nothing to the imagination.

Basis of one image, the alleged OnePlus 8 Pro will come with a curved display like the existing OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro. But instead of a pop-up selfie camera, the next OnePlus phone will come with a punch-hole display. This is something that has been part of rumour mills for some time now, but this is the first time we’re hearing about a dual punch-hole design like the one seen in the Samsung Galaxy S10+. Previous rumours suggested that the OnePlus 8 Pro will have a single punch hole.

The other leaked image, that shows off the back of the phone, suggests the alleged OnePlus 8 Pro will come with quad rear cameras arranged in a vertical fashion – the current-generation OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T Pro have three rear cameras. The fourth sensor, in the alleged OnePlus 8 Pro, is said to be a Time-of-Flight sensor for 3D depth mapping purposes.

Additionally, the back also confirms that the OnePlus 8 Pro will support 5G connectivity – this is because in the image, the phone is seen carrying the branding OnePlus 5G.

Since nothing of this is official, we suggest you take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.

The next OnePlus flagship, possibly the OnePlus 8 Pro, will also feature a 120Hz display, according to tipster Max J. OnePlus has already confirmed that all its upcoming phones will boast of a 90Hz refresh rate panel – at least – and the company may bump it up to 120Hz to differentiate the ‘pro’ variant. To recall, the OnePlus 7 Pro launched earlier this year came with a 90Hz display but the vanilla OnePlus 7 didn’t.
