OnePlus, that is hugely expected by loyalists to unveil the OnePlus 7 next-gen smartphone, has now reportedly sent out invitations for a session during the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2019). These invites naturally contribute to expectations about the brand officially showcasing futuristic smartphones during the premier consumer technology event that takes place in Barcelona in Spain.

Now, a Digit report mentions the OnePlus invites for the MWC 2019; and also states that this may be for a closed-door networking session at the event; rather than for a pure product launch. At this juncture, it would potentially be safe to assume that the heavily rumoured OnePlus 7 would not be showcased at Mobile World Congress.

At this juncture, alongside the rumoured OnePlus 7 another purported handset has also been doing the rounds on rumour mills. This device is also speculated to be a compact phone (with respect to size) which is also expected (by OnePlus loyalists) to have a 5G-compatible edition in store. However, OnePlus is yet to officially issue updates regarding multiple futuristic smartphones.

Nonetheless, OnePlus loyalists have also shared on forums, expectations with respect to the company potentially joining a list of initial 5G-adapter smartphone brands. As of now, the OnePlus 6T continues to be talked about as far as buyers of pure mid-range smartphones are concerned. Being an important pure mid-range, the handset features key technical specifications such as:

  • Android 9.0 platform; over the Oxygen UI
  • Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor
  • 16 MP + 20 MP rear cameras; with dual LED-flash
  • 16 MP front snapper
  • 6/8 GB RAM variants
  • 128/256 GB fixed internal storage; based on the respective RAM variant
  • LTE, HSPA, GSM, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and USB 2.0 connector
