Realme C2 entry-level phone to go on sale in India on May 15, 24 and 31, price starts at Rs 5,999

Oppo spin-off brand Realme’s recently launched Realme C2 entry-level phone will go on sale in India for the first time on May 15 from 12PM. Realme is jumping the gun and announcing the forthcoming sales dates as well. Post its first sale on May 15, the Realme C2 will be up for grabs on May 24 and May 31. The Realme C2 will be sold via online channels like Flipkart and Realme store – the phone is slated to arrive at offline sales channels later. 

Realme has launched the Realme C2 at a starting price of Rs 5,999 for the base version with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, going all the way to Rs 7,999 for the top-end version with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. With the Realme C2, Realme is looking to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 – that brings the budget smartphone segment alive with its bold and beautiful aura gradient design. 

Speaking of design, the Realme C2 has an all-plastic body with Realme’s signature diamond-cut design scheme – it will be available in blue and black colour options. The body of the Realme C2 is also resistant to smudges, according to Realme. 

Speaking of specs, the Realme C2 has a 6.1-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop/dewdrop-style notch. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor paired with up to 3GB RAM and up to 32GB storage which is further expandable via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. Software inside is Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6.0. The Realme C2 further packs a sizeable 4,000mAh battery inside. 

On to the optics, the Realme C2 has a dual rear camera system consisting of one 13MP camera and another 2MP camera for portrait photography. The Realme C2 also has a 5MP front camera. 

Successor to the Realme C1, the Realme C2 is also primarily geared towards first-time smartphone users looking to make a switch from a feature phone. 

In related news, the Realme 3 has been named the top smartphone on online channels in March 2019, according to data released by research firm Counterpoint Research.

Today it has earned another milestone by receiving the No. 1 position on online channels in March 2019 by Counterpoint Research. We are sure Realme 3 will go a long way with the never-ending love from our customers and fans,” Madhav Sheth who is chief executive officer, Realme India said in a statement.
