The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 launch in India could now happen as early as February 2019. This is the same Redmi handset that features a 48 MP camera which is unprecedented as far as both Xiaomi and Redmi are concerned.

Now, Manu Kumar Jain who is Managing Director at Xiaomi India has tweeted an image of Lei Jun and himself with the former sporting what is clearly the Redmi Note 7. Though this image is not extraordinarily symbolic, it does potentially sound ringing bells to the Xiaomi-Redmi loyalist community in India to anticipate the launch of the Redmi note 7.

In addition to this, Jain also states,“Amazing #48MP is coming” which is a clear symbolic representation about the Redmi note 7 launching soon on Indian shores. Earlier, rumour mills had pegged a March 2019 launch date for the handset; now, it seems that loyalists may not have to actually wait till that time; February represents an ideal time considering the fact that even the Redmi Note 5 was launched during the same month in 2018.

For the uninitiated, the Redmi Note 7 has been launched in China; where it has also been subjected to durability tests in weird ways such as by concealing within a basket and hurling it down a flight of steps and even using it (two units to be precise) as roller-skates. These tests were conducted by none other than Redmi President Lu Weibing. Click here to check these hilarious tests out now.

Being a pure mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Note 7 comes with technical specifications such as:

  • 6.3-inch screen with resolutions of 1080 x 2340 pixels
  • Android Pie operating platform straight out of the box; with MIUI 10 on top
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC
  • Adreno 512 GPU
  • 48 MP, 5 MP dual rear cameras
  • 13 MP front snapper
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32 GB internal storage
  • MicroSD expansion allowed, up to 256 GB
  • LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 2.0 connectivity
  • 4000 mAh fixed Lithium-Polymer battery.
