To recap, Jio would charge 6 paise per minute as Interconnect Usage Charge (IUC) it acquires when subscribers make a call to non-Jio networks. Jio pays this as IUC to the other operator on whose network the call is received. IUC is decided by TRAI. At this juncture, some incumbent telcos such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have stated that they might not resort to passing on IUC charges to subscribers.
