Samsung is seemingly in no mood to settle down. A day after launching the Galaxy M30, Samsung has launched a slew of affordable Galaxy A phones in India - the same day that Xiaomi is launching its 48MP-toting Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7 in the country. Samsung has launched as many as three new Galaxy A phones in India in one go - the entry-level Galaxy A10, and the mid-tier Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50. While the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 were recently announced at MWC 2019, the Galaxy A10 is making its global debut in India.

Prices start at Rs 8,490 for the Galaxy A10, going all the way to Rs 22,990 for the Galaxy A50 – which brings many industry firsts to its price segment. All the three phones have an Infinity notch design and run Android 9 Pie-based One UI – the same software that powers Samsung’s more premium Galaxy S and Galaxy Note phones. The Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50 bring Samsung’s One UI to the masses – with features like a system-wide dark mode and an emphasis on faster and seamless use on large-screen devices being its main highlight.

Samsung is using a new 3D ‘glasstic’ design in its new Galaxy A-series phones which seems to be its take on the gradient design scheme seen in competing products from Huawei and others – all the phones are essentially made of plastic with glossy finish in layman terms though. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front.

The Galaxy A50 is the most premium of the lot, with a 6.4-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display and a 2.3Ghz octa-coreExynos 9610 processor with up to 6GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is expandable. There’s a 4,000mAh battery powering the whole thing and there’s also 15W fast charging through USB Type-C.

It comes with three rear cameras consisting of one 25MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture, a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the Galaxy A50 comes with a 25MP camera.

The Galaxy A50 is also the first Galaxy A phone to ship with an optical in-display fingerprint scanner.

Coming to the Galaxy A30, it comes with a 6.4-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display and a 1.8Ghz octa-core Exynos7885 processor with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is expandable. It comes with dual rear cameras consisting of one 16MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture and another 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the Galaxy A30 comes with a 16MP camera.

Unlike the Galaxy A50, the Galaxy A30 has a conventional rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Lastly, the Galaxy A10 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V notch display and an Exynos7884 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable. It packs a 3,400mAh battery with micro-USB charging. The Galaxy A10 has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The Galaxy A10 does not have any fingerprint scanner.
