Samsung maybe working on an updated version of its recently launched Galaxy A90 5G with an updated triple rear camera setup and faster 45W charging support. The Galaxy A91 is said to keep rest of the deal intact but should come without 5G – that should help Samsung price it more aggressively, and also bring it to more markets. The Galaxy A90 5G is a Korea-exclusive affair for now, but Samsung has confirmed it “will expand to additional markets thereafter.”

The Samsung Galaxy A90 5G is a high-end phone, its biggest USP being its flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. This is paired with 6GB and 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. For some reason, only the 6GB RAM variant of the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G supports expandable storage. There’s a 4,500mAh battery powering the whole thing with support for 25W fast charging. The Galaxy A91 will reportedly support 45W fast charging instead – it would be interesting to see if Samsung also bundles a 45W compliant charger in the box. For some perspective, the Galaxy Note 10+ also supports 45W fast charging, but Samsung doesn’t bundle a 45W charger in the box.

On to the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G comes with a triple camera setup on the rear – a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field-of-view, and a 5MP depth sensor for portrait photography. The Galaxy A91 is said to swap the 8MP ultra-wide with a 12MP camera. On the front, the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G has a 32MP camera. The Galaxy A91 will reportedly have the same setup but with an aperture of f/2.2.

Elsewhere, the Galaxy A90 5G has a 6.7-inch 1080p+ Super AMOLED display with Infinity-U dewdrop-style notch and in-display fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy A91 is said to pack the same screen.

The Galaxy A90 5G is currently the highest-end Galaxy A phone in Samsung’s portfolio – the Galaxy A91 is also looking to be one, but it should be a more mainstream affair in terms of pricing and availability.
