Samsung, your Galaxy S10 is leaking. Left, right and centre. After a string of rumours talking about design, possible hardware, as well as availability and pricing (basically, everything), we now have reports coming in about the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E India launch. And, their pricing and availability for the Indian market. Samsung will reportedly launch the Galaxy S10 trio of phones in India on March 6 and start shipping from March 15. Prices will reportedly start at roughly around Rs 50,000 for the Galaxy S10E, going all the way to around Rs 1 lakh for the top-end Galaxy S10+ model.
The launch date, pricing and availability specifics are not very surprising, which means, the actual launch date, pricing and availability of the Galaxy S10 in India could be very close as being reported.
Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S10 phones at its Unpacked 2019 keynote event in San Francisco on February 20. It is expected to kick-off pre-orders from the next day itself, probably 12AM February 21 (in US time) and shipping is expected to commence from March 8. Now Samsung is known to bring its flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Note phones to India just days after their global launch, at least that’s how it has been lately. Therefore, a launch in the first week of March cannot be ruled out. The same is true about the shipping timeline as well, which according to the report, falls exactly a week after Samsung starts selling the Galaxy S10 in global markets.
As for pricing, the European pricing of the Galaxy S10 trio has already been leaked online. The Galaxy S10E is said to cost around Rs 61,000 in Europe. The vanilla Galaxy S10 will reportedly start at around Rs 73,000 in Europe and will be available with up to 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The Galaxy S10+ is meanwhile said to start at around Rs 81,000 in Europe while the top-end variant with 12GB RAM, 1TB storage and ceramic back will cost around a whopping Rs 1,22,000 in Europe.
In India, we can expect the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E to cost slightly lower than their European counterparts.
As per the report, the Galaxy S10E will start at around Rs 50,000, the Galaxy S10 will start at around Rs 65,000 and the Galaxy S10+ will start at around Rs 75,000. The report, that quotes a Samsung distributer, adds that there will be a difference of around Rs 4,000 between the different variants of the Galaxy S10 phones, which means the top-end variant of the Galaxy S10+ cost somewhere around Rs 1 lakh. While still expensive, Samsung’s Galaxy S10 phones will be cheaper than Apple’s iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, if the report is anything to go by.
