Samsung has announced its latest Exynos 7 Series 7904 mobile processor. Samsung claims to have improved the multimedia support with Exynos 7904, which in turn, can bridge the gap between high-end features and mid-range smartphones. Samsung says Exynos 7904 is tailored for Indian consumers. Exynos 7904 is claimed to deliver faster performance on mid-range smartphones, especially while web browsing and app launching, in addition to superior network speed and multitasking with balanced power consumption.

“Samsung is committed to bringing world-class innovative technologies for the consumers. With smartphones driving the digital revolution, Indian market has great potential. The Exynos 7 Series 7904 will enable advanced mobile experiences in a broader range of devices with triple-camera support, powerful performance and connectivity,” said Rajeev Sethi, Senior Director and Head of Sales and Marketing, Device Solutions, Samsung India.

As far as technical specifications are concerned, the image signal processor (ISP) on Exynos 7904 supports single-camera resolution of up to 32-megapixels (MP) and triple-camera setup, etc. For example, a third camera can take panoramic pictures with wide angles or add bokeh effects in portraits. Exynos 7904 also supports up to Full HD at 120 frames-per-second (fps) or Ultra HD at 30fps of video playback, and Full HD+ display.TA

The Exynos 7904 is built on a 14-nanometer (nm) process. It's equipped with two Cortex A73 performance cores ticking at 1.8-gigahertz (GHz) and six Cortex A53 efficiency cores clocked at 1.6 GHz. We can safely assume that 7904 should be highly efficient when it comes to web browsing, app response time etc. The embedded LTE modem supports Cat.12 3-carrier aggregation (CA) for 600-megabits-per-second (Mbps) downlink speed.

Samsung says the Exynos 7 Series 7904 is currently in mass production.
