HMD Global has scheduled a keynote event on February 24 ahead of MWC 2019 where it will possibly launch its long-delayed Nokia 9 PureView phone. The Nokia 9 PureView has been a long time coming but apparently its one-of-a-kind penta camera setup has been seemingly hard to make, hence the delay. A new leak now gives us the best look at the Nokia 9 PureView ahead of launch, showing off HMD’s upcoming phone from all angles. Seemingly also confirming its two marquee features: five rear cameras and in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Nokia 9 PureView will come with an all-glass and metal body, as per the leak. The phone will ship with five rear cameras, with seven openings in total, including one for LED flash and another for the optical sensors. There will be no notch on the front: iPhone X-style, or punch-hole, or whatever. It will carry the same sort of design we saw in the Nokia 7 Plus, with a near edge-to-edge screen possibly with an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9, but with some bezels thrown in on all sides. The Nokia branding will be etched on the top right portion of the phone, much like it was in the case of the Nokia 7 Plus. There will be no conventional fingerprint scanner either. Instead, the Nokia 9 PureView will come with a fingerprint scanner embedded into the display.

The design is in line with all the leaks and rumours in the past (including one shared by serial tipster Evan Blass), which suggests it could be the real deal.

As for the five rear cameras, users will reportedly be able to shoot five simultaneous shots – making use of all the five cameras together – with the Nokia 9 PureView. The penta-camera setup, which will unsurprisingly be fine-tuned by Carl Zeiss, will allow for up to 10x increased light capture (in comparison to a regular smartphone camera colour sensor) for enhanced low-light photography.

Rumoured hardware specs of the Nokia 9 PureView include, a 5.99-inch 2K+ HDR10-ready PureDisplay with slim bezels, stock Android Pie (Android One) software with two years of promised updates and free unlimited storage with Google Photos, and Qi wireless charging. It is further said to come with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. Sadly, the Nokia 9 PureView will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor at a time when rivals will be showing off their flagship devices with the next-generation Qualcomm snapdragon 855 chipset.
