The Vivo V9 Pro which was launched during October 2018 has received its first price cut and is currently available for Rs 17990. Now, USP of this handset is its 6GB RAM under-the-hood and the Snapdragon 660 mobile platform.

Now, the Vivo V9 Pro has received its latest price cut on Amazon India and Flipkart; at this juncture, it is not known whether these reduction in prices are applicable at the brick-and-mortar retail stores in India. Both the e-tailers have slashed the price of the phone by Rs 2000, and the device is available at Rs 17990 (on Amazon), and Rs 15990 (on Flipkart - for the 4GB edition). For the uninitiated, the Vivo V9 Pro offers the below key technical specifications:

  • 6.3-inch display having resolutions of 2280 x 1080 pixels
  • Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system out of the box
  • Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660AE SoC
  • 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras
  • 16MP front snapper
  • 4/6 GB RAM editions
  • 64 GB internal storage
  • MicroSD card slot for expansion of internal storage up to 256GB
  • VoLTE, LTE, HSPA, Bluetooth 5, and microUSB 2.0 connectivity
  • 3260 mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

At this juncture, it is also worth noting that Amazon India has listed the new Xolo Era 4X as an exclusive that is set to go on sale from January 9; fro a price tag of Rs 4444. This handset from Xolo which has seemingly remained “laid back” for a while now, is clearly targeted at the budget segment of buyers preferring to own their first smartphones without having to invest heavily and sometimes even potentially not wanting to part with their hard-earned savings.

Hence, in the regard of the Xolo Rs 4444 smartphone, you could share thoughts/insights on the relevance of this segment in India considering the fact that the mid-range and flagship segments have seen huge disruptions with Chinese brands taking the lead. Even Samsung has been able to maintain its own in the Chinese smartphones battle.
