In what could be good news for all the Xiaomi fans out there, the Chinese smartphone maker is finally geared up to announce its latest flagship smartphone - Xiaomi Mi 9. Folks over at Xiaomi have been teasing the arrival of their upcoming flagship for quite some time and we have even heard pretty much everything about the Mi 9's key specifications and features from several unofficial mediums.

For those who care, Xiaomi Mi 9's launch event is scheduled for 11.30AM IST today in Beijing, capital of China. Xiaomi Mi 9 will be a successor to last year's Mi 8. From what we know so far, Xiaomi Mi 9 will employ Samsung's Full HD+ (1080p) Super AMOLED screen, further protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Powering the handset will be Qualcomm's current flagship Snapdragon 855 octa-core SoC.

In terms of optics, Xiaomi Mi 9 will feature a triple rear camera unit consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, a 12MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.2 aperture for 2X optical zoom, and a 16MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a117-degree field-of-view.
